Survival Driving : Tactical Vehicle Intervention (TVI)

Tactical Vehicle Intervention (TVI) is a great tool to have available to terminate lenghty and deadly pursuits. Remember, the longer a pursuit continues the possibility of innocent civillians being injured increases. Even when stop sticks have been successfully deployed many times the pursuit continues still presenting a danger to innocent lives. TVI is considered a medium use of force and is not "ramming" if properly used.

Survival Driving is currently building up a fleet of vehicles to conduct this training. This program should be available mid to late spring if not sooner. The class is 1 day and will consist of classroom and hands on driving. Classroom will cover legal aspects, when and where to use the maneuver, damage resulting from the use of this maneuver, view footage of the maneuver being used in actual pursuits, and a discussion on proper techniques. Once on the driving pad the student will demonstrate proficiency at several different speeds and will continue reps until confident in the skill. The remainder of the day will be used to tuneup driver skills on EVOC courses in their department vehicle.

Please feel free to call anytime to discuss this training.
